Our Story

The running joke for Samantha and Eli, is it took a pandemic for them to meet. It was the beginning of  Covid-19  and while most people were finding ways to keep “strangers at bay”  Eli and Samantha found unique ways in getting to know one another . In fact, their first “meet ups” was a zoom call where Eli and Samantha talked over coffee, and ended with a walk around Eli’s garden and plants. 

By the second date, Samantha shared she would be moving to Oceanside. Eli, who rarely, if ever, crossed the 8 freeway, was truly surprised - but offered without hesitation to help move Samantha. Since of course there was no official plan on Samantha’s part on how a move would happen, she quickly agreed.  

The dating world was not easy, restaurants, and most public spaces were closed. This offered a creative dating experience for both Eli and Samantha. They turned to walks on the beach, outdoor wineries, and movies at home as their go to dating activities. 

Learning about one another during this moment in time was unique and exciting, but came with many twists and turns.  Eli shared he would be completing his Confirmation, knowing this would need to be done in order to one day get married in the Catholic church.  Samantha was surprised Eli decided to do this, but provided him ongoing love and encouragement. 

Needless to say, Eli knew he met his match with Samantha. He proposed just before they took a trip to Mexico in March of 2022. Samantha, who truly thought Eli was joking, was beyond shocked, said, Yes!! And now the two will say “I do,” on July 20, 2024.
